Val's Eagle Lake Fishing Report and Photo page has moved to our sister site eaglelakefishing.net. The links will take you there. It will contain all the same information as before and more! All other information will stay right here! Eagle Lake is located northwest of Susanville in Northeastern California at an elevation of approximately 5100 + feet and is a trophy trout fishery offering trout angling at its best. The lake has 100 miles of shoreline and is roughly 27,000 surface acres during years of high water. The Eagle Lake Rainbow Trout is native to the alkaline water of the lake. Other species including Tui Chub, Lahontan Red-side shiners, Tahoe Suckers and Speckled Dace also reside here. The famous Eagle Lake Trout is the only game fish in the lake. The fishing season begins on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend through December 31. See “About Eagle Lake” for more information about The Jewel of Northeastern California.
